A Kiwi man has been left with severe injuries which could take up to a year to heal after being mugged in London.
Joel Perry was left a fractured pelvis, dislocated hip and broken knees and ankles after the June 9 assault, a Givealittle page set up by the his brother Kent Perry states.
"He was assaulted... had his wallet and phone stolen and was threatened with some quite vicious threats, threats to kill," Kent Perry told Fairfax.
The young man is being treated in King's College Hospital and has undergone three surgeries.
"He managed to move to a wheelchair on Wednesday, to get used to leg movements. Joel's pretty stoic and pretty tough, and he's got a pretty good head on his shoulders, so he's taking it in his stride, but he was pretty shaken up," Kent Perry told Fairfax.
