O’Brien praised the nurses, doctors and team at Auckland City Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit “for their world-class and empathetic care”, and the “remarkable crew at the Little Miracles Trust” for their support.
She also used the online post to thank doctors at Birth Right, and family and friends.
“You kept our spirits up, our tummies full and our baby so so loved.”
“It’s hard to imagine being any happier,” she said.
Speaking to the Herald at the time, the Stuff journalist said: “[Partner] Cam and I are still pinching ourselves – though my suddenly very prominent bump leaves absolutely no room for doubt that it’s really happening!
“I definitely need more time to make sense of this flatpack nappy changing table but we can’t wait to meet our little one.”
