A Kiwi hitman - who skipped the country 12 years ago to evade drugs charges - has been jailed for 11 years in Scotland for attempting to kill a senior legal officer.
Robert Graham, 47, was sentenced on Wednesday for a "sustained and frenzied attack" on former Law Society of Scotland executive Leslie Cumming, 68, in a lane near the victim's Edinburgh home.
Cumming was repeatedly stabbed and beaten in the 2006 assault.
Graham, who was paid to carry out the attack, was convicted of the crime after a nine-day trial in the High Court at Edinburgh last month.
He is thought to have slipped out of New Zealand on a fishing boat in 1999.
