A New Zealander faces jail and deportation from Scotland after being caught with $NZ852,000 of cannabis plants in his car.
Trong Dinh Pham, 19, was arrested on October 11 after police stopped his car on a motorway near Lockerbie, the BBC reported today.
The High Court in Glasgow was told Pham was stopped for a routine check when officers smelt cannabis and found five black bags full of plants in the car.
Pham, whose parents live in New Zealand and whose UK visa expired last March, said he had been paid to collect the plants and was due to be paid Stg2000 on the completion of his journey.
His sentencing was deferred until next year for reports.
