A New Zealander has set a world record by swimming 226m in a pool without taking a breath.
The swim took free-diver Dave Mullins 3m 42s to complete yesterday during an international competition at Wellington's Naenae Pool.
The 26-year-old used a mono-fin to beat the previous record of 225m held by Denmark's Stig Avril Severinson.
