SYDNEY - A 22-year-old New Zealand man has died after climbing on top of a moving Sydney train.
Police say the man was badly burnt when he clambered on to the top of the train about 10pm NZT on Saturday.
He was unconscious when his mates pulled him back in and began performing first aid while the train stopped at Windsor station, in Sydney's far northwest.
Paramedics also tried to help the man, but he died in Hawkesbury District Hospital a short time later.
"The man appeared to have suffered burns to his body and a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death," a police statement said on Sunday.
"The possibility the man was hit by electrical wires while on top of the train is being investigated."
