KEY POINTS:
An allegedly drunk and dangerous New Zealander has been arrested by Brisbane police after driving his red sports car into a city mall outside the local casino yesterday.
The 43-year-old caught the attention of police when he revved his engine and performed a "fishtail" outside the Treasury Casino, the ABC reported.
As armed police officers stepped out to pull him over, he allegedly changed lanes and drove straight at a policeman, almost hitting him. Officers intercepted his car after a chase.
After a short struggle, the man was arrested and breathalysed, recording a blood alcohol reading of 0.09 - almost twice the 0.05 legal limit for the percentage of alcohol in the blood of a driver.
He is expected to appear in a Brisbane court charged with, among other things, dangerous driving, unlicensed driving, drink-driving and failing to stop.
