Expatriate New Zealander Max Barrett, who lost his cool over an Australian TV ad poking fun at the Kiwi accent, has admitted charges of common assault and using offensive language.
Barrett also pleaded guilty to misusing a telecommunications service when he appeared in Griffith Local Court today, a court spokeswoman told AAP.
No pleas were entered on other charges he faces - intimidation, resisting arrest and intimidating police - and his case was adjourned to August 29.
Barrett, 44, took umbrage at a furniture retailer's ad on the WIN regional television network featuring two animated kookaburras saying "Yeah, bro", "Sweet as, bro" and "Choice, bro" with New Zealand accents.
Police say Barrett abused Knockonwood furniture store staff over the phone on May 25 before turning up at WIN's Griffith offices where he abused staff and assaulted an advertising executive.
