"We feel it is time to let everyone know, between 1am & 2am this morning my beautiful, amazing little bro was taken from us," the post said.
"Rest in paradise my little bro you are the most loving, caring, and kind hearted young boy ever and I can't believe you are gone, you are the most amazing little bro I could ever ask for, I love you more than I can ever explain, your going to be miss bro RIP."
The two victims were apparently car enthusiasts and a tribute drive was being organised for them tonight, according to another Facebook post.
"So we all know that they both passed away early hours of this morning which is heart breaking and is unreal that they have gone far too early as well. We have all had good vibes with these two! So I'm putting heart out there a making a meet up and cruise for there one last ride," the post said.
Silverdale Volunteer Fire Brigade station officer Daniel Capon said the two young men were already deceased when firefighters arrived.
"It was a pretty serious scene and unfortunately there were two lives lost," he said.
"It's a difficult thing to turn up to, but we just had to do the job we were there to do."
The highway was closed for some time while police investigated.
Police said this morning that they were yet to formally identify the victims and were in the process of informing next of kin.
The serious crash unit is investigating.
