Classmates of a 9-year-old girl who drowned in a bath at her home in South Auckland have been offered counselling after her death.
Tamsyn Whiteman, was today identified as the child who died at a property in Conifer Grove, Takanini, about 8am yesterday.
Tamsyn was a Year 5 student at Westmount School, in Mangere Bridge, the Auckland-based campus belonging to the Plymouth Brethren community.
Regional principal Hugo Vaughan told the Herald Tamsyn was a much-loved student of their primary school.
"She was just so popular, just wonderful, bubbly, friendly and just loved by all the other kids - and I think that's what made it so hard for them today, because her presence was so visibly absent."
