Hamilton police have referred three children to welfare agencies after they were found in a house alongside drugs and loaded firearms.
Sergeant Dale Smith says armed police went to a Melville address to execute a search warrant in relation to drugs.
He said two patched gang members were present, and spotting gear was found warming up on a stove in the kitchen.
Police found an indoor cannabis growing operation in the garage, where they also discovered two hidden sawn-off shotguns and ammunition.
In the house a point 22 rifle was found, cut down and loaded.
One man was arrested at the scene and will face drugs and firearms charges on Monday.
Sergeant Smith said police are very concerned that were were three children, all under the age of eight, and one of them only an infant, at the property.
