Hundreds of young athletes swam, cycled and ran on Auckland's North Shore yesterday as part of the Weet-Bix Tryathlon.
The event at Narrow Neck Beach Reserve was non-competitive and all about taking part.
There were no placings for the youngsters aged 7 to 15 who took part.
"It's about getting out there, having a go and achieving a personal best," a spokesman for organisers Sanitarium Health Food Company said.
Participants swam between 50m and 200m, biked between 4km and 8 km and ran 1.5km.
The Tryathlon, the 18th in the Weet-Bix series, has been staged in 12 towns and cities around the country since December.
