Thousands of Kiwi school children will try to bite off a new world record by simultaneously munching into apples this year.
About 20,000 kids will take part in The Jazz Apple Big Crunch, to be held on May 10. Organisers are confident they will beat the existing record of 9,329 apples consumed.
The event will be organised by Enza, the apple and pear export company, and proceeds will be donated to children's charity KidsCan.
Enza's global marketing manager, Rosstan Mazey, said the event was a fun and cheeky way to promote the availability of new-season Jazz apples.
