Kidnap car found

The black BMW car involved in a kidnapping and aggravated robbery in the Bay of Plenty has been found dumped in a farmer's orchard.

The car was stolen from a 52-year-old man after he was kidnapped in the vehicle at gunpoint on Tuesday morning. He suffered minor grazing during the incident, which ended in his escape.

The offenders drove off in the vehicle and armed police have since been searching for them.

Police said the victim was believed to be known to the offenders.
