Kickboxer Paul Takana Kingi, 36, was today jailed for two and a half years for the manslaughter of his uncle, Rangiwananga Kingi, 60, in January 2004.
The High Court in Palmerston North was told that Kingi became involved in a dispute between his father and his uncle.
He struck his uncle who fell and hit his head on the concrete floor of a carport of a Dannevirke house, dying two days later.
Kingi, who has enjoyed a high profile on the K1 kick boxing circuit in Japan, was at home recovering from an injury at the time the argument between his father and uncle occurred.
