Prime Minister John Key joined 4000 other oyster-lovers at the Bluff Oyster and Food Festival yesterday. Mr Key came third in his heat of the oyster-eating race.
Super-shucker Keith Lovett won the men's oyster-opening races in the open, veterans and blindfold grades, taking as little as 2m 26.30s to open 50 oysters, and Jan Beaton won the women's open title.
