KEY POINTS:
National Party leader John Key has announced his shadow cabinet, with his deputy Bill English taking the role of finance spokesman.
Announcing the line up, Mr Key said: "We think it's a Shadow Cabinet that can earn the respect of New Zealanders...
"I believe this is a strong line-up that reflects the depth and diversity of talent in our Caucus."
In other changes, Maurice Williamson has been given a front bench seat as transport and telecommunications spokesman and Katherine Rich has taken over Mr English's education portfolio.
Gerry Brownlee becomes Shadow Leader of the House and chairman of National's Strategy Committee. He is also responsible for Energy, State Owned Enterprises and State Services.
Simon Power has been promoted and given the justice and commerce portfolios. He will continue to be spokesman on corrections.
Mrs Collins moves up one spot.
Georgina te Heuheu and Tau Henare are sharing the Maori Affairs portfolio. Mrs te Heuheu will become Maori Affairs (Culture & Development) spokeswoman while Mr Henare becomes the Maori Affairs (Education & TPK) spokesman.
Wayne Mapp has been given the Defence and Auckland Issues portfolios, while Chris Finlayson remains shadow Attorney-General and Treaty Negotiations spokesman.
Meanwhile, Tim Groser has been given Trade and Associate Finance portfolios and Anne Tolley has become Chief Whip.
Mr Key was National's finance spokesman until he became party leader on Monday, replacing Don Brash who has announced he intends resigning from Parliament.
