A Russell Hobbs kettle is being recalled because of concerns of lead poisoning.
Salton NZ, which distributes the Hobbs Mona Kettle, said in a statement today it was undertaking a voluntary recall of the 3022 and 3023 models.
"It has been alleged that the kettle may leach lead into the water. Lead exposure may cause serious injury to infants and young children," the statement said.
Owners were asked to stop using the kettles and to contact Salton on its free phone number 0508 555 000 for a refund.
