Kelp spreads to Kawau

The invasive kelp undaria, listed as one of the world's 100 worst invasive species, has been found at Kawau Island.

The seaweed was discovered along Auckland's waterfront late last year.

The Auckland Regional Council says the Kawau infestation will be eradicated but the chances of eradication from the waterfront are virtually nil.
