Katy gets first family roar of approval

Prime Minister John Key and family posed backstage with pop superstar Katy Perry after her sold-out show at the Vector Arena on Friday night.

But the 30-year-old sequinned starlet was almost outshone in the fashion stakes by Key's daughter Stephie, who stood out in an eye-catching pink singlet and pants outfit.

Bronagh and John were both dressed more conservatively, in trousers paired with casual shirts.

Posting on his official Twitter account, Key wrote: "Awesome show, @KatyPerry. Thank you for giving us the chance to say hi with Bronagh and Stephie."

Perry performed the second New Zealand show of her Prismatic World Tour in Auckland last night.

A spokesman for Key said: "The Prime Minister and his family enjoyed the concert and the opportunity to meet Katy Perry following her awesome show in Auckland last night.

"The Prime Minister is a big fan of Ms Perry and says it is great to see performers of her calibre coming to New Zealand."

And to celebrate Perry's Auckland concerts, icecream shop owner Giapo Grazioli recreated her Prism tour signature sunflower microphone - out of icecream.

The Giapo Haute Ice Cream boss spent more than 80 hours making the edible icecream sculpture at his Queen St store.

He used a 3D printer to create the Prism logo on the hand-rolled, chocolate-dipped waffle cone. Grazioli planned to deliver the icecream to Perry's tour manager yesterday.
