She came, she saw, she shopped a little.
While other movie stars were strutting their stuff on the red carpet at the Baftas, Kate Winslet was visiting Wairarapa, and doing a little shopping in Masterton.
Actress Winslet's visit on Sunday has been reported by news outlets and celebrity gossip sites - with many reports focusing on her spending-spree at fashion outlet Pagani.
The A-lister was in town with Hobbit film director Peter Jackson, who owns a property outside Masterton, her new husband Ned Rocknroll, and Jackson's daughter Katie.
While shop workers who served Winslet as she bought dresses, jackets and jewellery said she was friendly and polite, she didn't create much of a stir in town, with most locals keeping their distance.
