Kaitaia house fire suspect

Kaitaia police are looking for a 28-year-old man after a house in the town was gutted by fire on Saturday night.

A woman and her two children who were living at the Matthews Ave address were told by the man to leave the house after an argument over the use of a vehicle and threats to burn the house down.

Police said the house caught fire a few minutes after the woman and her children left. No one was hurt.
