Health Minister Annette King will be in Kaitaia this month to discuss the future of surgery and other services at Kaitaia Hospital.
She is also expected to confirm plans for a scheduled $9.3 million hospital upgrade by the Northland District Health Board.
The Kaitaia Hospital Action Group has invited her to discuss community concerns about the future of services at the hospital and comes after a march through the town on Thursday by about 800 people.
Marchers, supported by the hospital action group, Grey Power Far North and other community and service groups, called for the reinstatement of 24-hour, seven-day-a-week acute surgery at the hospital.
