The trial of Chris Kahui for the alleged murder of his twin sons will cost taxpayers more than $800,000.

From his arrest to acquittal last month, the prosecution cost was $326,218, the Dominion Post reported.
Kahui's defence will cost more than $500,000 in legal aid.
It took the jury 10 minutes to find him not guilty at the end of a six-week trial.
