Palmerston North police are concerned at two violent incidents involving juvenile offenders.
A 28-year-old man was attacked by three teenagers outside the Palmerston North District Court on Friday night, Detective Dave Wishnowsky said.
The man was treated at Palmerston North Hospital for head injuries.
A 19-year-old has been charged with wounding with intent and is to appear in the Palmerston North District Court on Monday. Two 16 years olds were also spoken to and one is to be dealt with by the police youth aid section.
On Thursday night a 21-year-old woman was assaulted while eating takeaway food in Firzherbert Avenue. Her wallet was stolen.
Two youths, aged 15 and 16, have been charged with aggravated robbery and have appeared in Palmerston North Youth Court. They were remanded until January.
Mr Wishnowsky said neither victim was intoxicated.
"The incidents were unprovoked, violent and committed against innocent and random victims," he said. "The age of the offenders is also a concern."
