KEY POINTS:
Papakura District Court is to resume jury trials next year for the first time in eight years as the Government tries to ease the strain on the region's court system.
The move will help ease the work load on Manukau by creating a new Papakura jury district. It will allow jurors to be drawn from areas not currently within a district court jury district, including people from south Pukekohe, Tuakau and the Bombay area.
Courts Minister Rick Barker said the workload increase was due to the region's population growth.
