The Supreme Court has reserved its decision on whether to grant leave to euthanasia campaigner Lesley Martin to appeal her conviction.
Martin was found guilty in March 2004 of attempted murder of her mother Joy.
Her lawyer Donald Stevens QC argued that her conviction was a miscarriage of justice.
He told the court there is a question over whether she received a fair trial on the basis of misdirections the trial judge made in summary to the jury.
Dr Stevens said these related to whether Martin had the capacity to form an intent due to the stress she was under.
The Judges wanted to re-read the trial file before making a decision on the application.
