Directors of a company which made extravagant claims about the benefits of its weight-loss drink will have to wait a little longer to learn their fate.
Judge Lyndsay Moore reserved a written decision in the case against Zenith Corporation and its owners Winston and Sylvia Gallot. The pair have been convicted for breaches of the Fair Trading Act, stemming from the claimed benefits of the dietary supplement, Body Enhancer, between March 2000 and December 2002.
Judge Moore said at Auckland District Court yesterday he wanted to consider applications for costs and corrective advertising before passing sentence.
The couple's lawyer John Katz, QC, said the Body Enhancer product now available in shops was not the same product about which the charges were brought. A date for the decision was not set.
