A man who appeared in the Wanganui District Court on charges related to an alleged kidnapping in Feilding last month has been denied bail and will make his next appearance in the Palmerston North District Court.
Colin Smith, 30, is facing charges of kidnapping, threatening to kill and committing a threatening act, over an incident last month where a 54-year-old was abducted and taken to a Feilding house.
Armed police raided the address the following day and arrested one of the alleged kidnappers.
Smith turned himself into police in Wanganui after his name and photograph were released to the public.
Before Judge David Cameron in the Wanganui District Court yesterday, Smith's assigned counsel, Debbie Goodlet, filed an application for electronically monitored bail.
