A dairy farmer who breached his community work got his hours revised when he appeared in the Masterton District Court this week.
Michael Joseph Dewar, 25, pleaded guilty to breaching a community work sentence.
His lawyer, Frank Minehan, said Dewar was a "dairy farm worker with responsibility for other staff", and had also faced "a number of serious health issues".
The court probation officer confirmed to Judge Jan Kelly that Dewar "has made quite good progress" on his sentence, before requesting the sentence be cancelled and reimposed with "perhaps a slight penalty". He also asked the new sentence be deferred.
Judge Kelly cancelled Dewar's community work sentence with its outstanding 143 hours, and imposed a new sentence of 150 hours, deferred until September 11.
