Judge Stephen Erber has ensured that a man who stripped naked in a launderette will not be shy about his next court appearance.
Forty-five-year-old Kenneth Hunter Georgeson made a voluntary appearance in the Christchurch District Court today after missing his sentencing date on Friday.
Defence counsel Vicki Walsh said he had been confused about the date. He had another charge in the system, and pleaded guilty to that today. She asked for bail pending a new sentencing date.
"He has a list of convictions which adds new meaning to the word extensive," said Judge Erber.
"I acknowledge he has some difficulties in his lifestyle," said Mrs Walsh.
Georgeson had earlier pleaded guilty to obscene exposure for the launderette incident, drinking alcohol in breach of Christchurch's central city liquor ban, disorderly behaviour and wilful damage for an earlier incident at a medical centre, and theft of an $80 jacket.
Today he admitted trespassing at the Salvation Army. He said he had gone there to get some clothes from a mate.
Judge Erber said, "I'm going to ensure he's here for sentence" and remanded the beneficiary in custody to Friday.
