A 5-year-old Masterton boy is delighted his Christmas present, an MGP scooter, has been returned after it was stolen while he attended a holiday programme last month.
His mother Kirsten Butters bought a scooter for each of her two children, Corban, 5, and Montana, 7, and being a beneficiary it was the only Christmas present she could afford for each of them.
Corban contributed $50 from pocket money - a birthday present from his grandfather - to the cost of the scooter.
Ms Butters put notices about the missing scooter in school newsletters, and received a call on Thursday night from a woman in Lansdowne who found the scooter in bushes in her garden.
The woman and Ms Butters checked the scooter's serial number and were pleased to find it was his.
