It was a transtasman battle with a difference - medieval style - in Taupo at the weekend.
New Zealand and Australian knights were at this year's Taupo International Jousting Tournament, held at Spa Park, for the ultimate one-on-one transtasman battle.
Andrew McKinnon, of Australia and Bob Laughton, of New Zealand, were among the many who participated at the two-day tournament, which began on Saturday.
Now in its fifth year, the jousting tournament is part of the Taupo Medieval Festival, which also includes archery, sword tournaments and re-enactments, and a living authentic medieval village and marketplace for people to walk through.
