Shane Jones and Rino Tirikatene will take over portfolios previously held by Labour MP Parekura Horomia, who died last month.
Labour Leader David Shearer said Mr Horomia had left a huge legacy in his roles as Maori Affairs and Treaty Negotiations spokesman, but the time had come for his portfolios to be reallocated.
"I have appointed Shane Jones to the position of Maori Affairs spokesperson and also as associate Food Safety spokesperson given the importance of the food sector to Maori," Mr Shearer said.
"Rino Tirikatene will take over responsibility for Treaty Negotiations."
"Together with Nanaia Mahuta, Moana Mackey and Louisa Wall, Labour's Maori caucus will continue the good work of Parekura Horomia in fighting to improve the lives of Maori and all New Zealanders," David Shearer said.
