New Zealand rugby star Jonah Lomu had the pleasure of picking up Swiss world No 1 tennis player Martina Hingis in Tokyo yesterday.
The pair, who were involved in a new TV commercial for sporting goods maker adidas, were making an appearance for the company.
While Lomu, aged 25, may not have Hingis' earning power, he has the physical advantage - at 118kg he is exactly double her weight.
Lomu, fresh from helping New Zealand to win the Sevens World Cup in Argentina, will play in a World Series tournament in Wellington at the weekend.
Hingis, aged 20, who has created a stir with her uneven-length sleeves, designed to generate extra power on court, has not been in such sparkling form recently.
She lost to American Lindsay Davenport at the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo yesterday.
This follows the Swiss miss' defeat in the Australian Open at the hands of US comeback kid Jennifer Capriati.
Lomu, meanwhile, was at his scorching best in Argentina, barging aside Australian players to score a hat-trick of tries in the final.
