The next generation of the 'world's fastest Indian' - the Scout - will be revealed to the New Zealand public at Big Boys Toys at the ASB Showgrounds on 7-9 November with the assistance of legend Burt Munro's son, John.
John Munro will be on the Indian Motorcycle stand at Big Boys Toys on Friday and Saturday to assist with the public unveil of the new Scout.
"I rode the all- new Scout at Sturgis this year and was very impressed with its handling and balance. I'm sure Dad would have just loved it," said John Munro.
"We are extremely excited about the return of the Scout, not least because it will be the first truly new Scout in more than seven decades - it is a contemporary yet classic interpretation of one of motorcycling's most coveted and famous bikes, well known in New Zealand for its feats as the 'world's fastest Indian' with Burt Munro at the helm," Peter Harvey, Country Manager for Indian Motorcycles said.
"Burt's feats on a 47 year old bike at the Bonneville Salt Flats were bought to life in the 2005 movie The World's Fastest Indian - to modify a bike's top speed from 96km/hour to over 320km/hour shows his sheer determination, grit and ingenuity, all attributes that resonate with our Kiwi riders," he continued.
