The sight of John Key donning the rugby strip of arch-rivals Australia would make most die hard All Blacks fans feel faintly nauseous.
But less than 48 hours after the Kiwis lost the rugby championship to the Wallabies in Sydney, our Prime Minister did just that.
Mr Key wore thegreen and gold to honour a bet he made with CNBC anchor Oriel Morrison during a television interview on Friday.
With the pre-Bledisloe Cup clash odds irresistible, Mr Key agreed that the loser in the bet would don the victorious team's strip.
He had made a similar bets previously with former Australian PMs Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard - but never been on the receiving end until now.
So after the All Blacks went down 19-27, he made good on the bet during an official visit to Singapore, obscuring the green and gold jersey with a local scarf, in celebration of the city-state's 50th birthday on Sunday.
