KEY POINTS:
A family holiday in Hawaii last week will be one that National's leader John Key will not forget, for all the wrong reasons.
His Parnell mansion was broken into.
Mr Key returned with his family on Sunday and is now counting the cost. He says his home is equipped with world class security, but it seems the burglars were in and out of the house in about five minutes flat.
Mr Key says they got away with quite a lot of jewellery and some expensive watches. He has a safe, but says he had been a bit lazy and had not put the valuables in it before he left.
Police are investigating the break in.
