Four jobs are to go at the Nelson Mail newspaper as parent company Fairfax Media moves to slim down its New Zealand operations.
Nelson Mail general manager Craig Dennis told the paper that four staff were losing their jobs as Fairfax centralised its pre-press operations.
"Hubs" were being created in Christchurch, Wellington, Hamilton and Auckland for pre-press operations, Mr Dennis said.
The jobs would go through a combination of voluntary and compulsory redundancies, he said.
