Labour is worried about what it says is the 'ticking time bomb' of youth unemployment.
Youth Affairs spokeswoman Jacinda Ardern says it is ten times worse than National wants to admit.
She says more than 70 thousand people in the 15 to 24 age group are not at work, or in education or training.
Ms Ardern says the longer a person has nothing at all to do, the longer it takes for them to get back into work or training.
Jacinda Ardern says we should have learned in the 1990s how much damage long term unemployment does.
