Job Monitor tracks losses as recession bites into Kiwi jobs

Stockmarkets have plummeted, house prices continue to fall, and faith in the financial sector is at an all-time low. The recession is beginning to bite on jobs.

From today, the Herald will be keeping a running tally of jobs lost throughout the country. In line with the Government's relief arrangements we have backdated this to the general election last month, and will continue to update it.

If there are any losses you know of that we have missed, through company closures or redundancies or other reasons, please email the details to the Herald newsdesk.

Remember, the starting point is November 8.
