KEY POINTS:
Police have identified a fourth vehicle of interest to the investigation into the death of baby Jhia Te Tua in Wanganui this month.
Police believe the car was present when Jhia was shot through the window of her parents' home in Puriri St, Gonville, about 10pm.
However, the only clue to its identity is its colour - red.
Jhia, 2, was killed in the drive-by shooting on May 5.
Her father was a patched member of Black Power, and Mongrel Mob members are thought to be responsible.
Six men, including three patched Mongrel Mob members and a gang prospect, are in custody as a result of the investigation into Jhia's death, mainly facing drugs and firearms-related charges. No one has yet been directly charged with causing Jhia's death.
Police have been focusing on the movements of three vehicles in the hours leading up to the shooting - a black and grey Nissan Safari 4x4 XW8646; a grey Mitsubishi Galant XI7794; and a white Ford Falcon Futura SL7325.
Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Bensemann said yesterday it was no longer thought the Safari was in Puriri St when Jhia was shot.
Instead, the "red" car was thought to be the third vehicle seen by witnesses, and he appealed for further information.
Mr Bensemann said the inquiry was still interested in any information regarding the movements of the vehicles and their occupants.
