A Whakatane man's revolutionary self-righting jetboat has been shortlisted in a major competition in Britain.
Bill Roberts' Wave Attack prototype was one of 23 successful designs which went on display last month at the Southampton Boat Show.
The winner will be announced in January. First prize is £5000 ($14,000).
Wave Attack is described as a search and rescue craft which handles shallow river entrances and the most adverse sea conditions.
