Kawarau Jet has resumed commercial operations after the crash that killed a Chinese tourist when a jetboat flipped on the Shotover River in Central Otago last Thursday.
The woman's body was found under the upturned 2.5 tonne jetboat about 90 minutes after the crash, near Queenstown.
The Kawarau Jet boat was carrying 22 passengers, all from a China tour party, when it flipped where the Shotover and Kawarau Rivers meet at 2.45pm last Thursday.
Seven members of the tour party were hurt.
Company director Andrew Brinsley said they resumed operations yesterday after Maritime New Zealand cleared them to do so.
The boat involved in the accident was not in use and the driver was "taking things at his own pace".
The driver had been back to the scene and had been for a ride on a jetboat to ease himself back into it, Mr Brinsley told NZPA.
He said the driver was trying to remain as positive as possible.
Community support had been "phenomenal from all areas" and the company wanted to acknowledge all the help they had received.
Most of the Chinese tour party left New Zealand as scheduled.
Two people remained in New Zealand, one was recently released from hospital and the other remained in Dunedin Hospital, Mr Brinsley said.
He said the deceased woman's family was expected to arrive in New Zealand from Shanghai sometime this week and, despite language difficulties, Kawarau Jets was hoping to help them.
