A 9-year-old was rushed to hospital yesterday after being stung by a jellyfish during a swim at Omaha beach.
A St John spokesman said the boy was initially in a critical condition after falling unconscious but his status was downgraded when his condition improved.
He was taken to a nearby house before being picked up by an ambulance and driven to North Shore Hospital's emergency department.
