Jealous man nabbed after rampage

A man has been taken in for questioning after a jealous rampage in South Auckland.

Police say he showed up at his ex-girlfriend's work in Wiri this morning, threatened her, smashed her car then assaulted her.

He then drove to her new partner's workplace and attacked his motorcycle.

A search was launched after a colleague of the new partner told police they had seen what looked like a gun in the man's pocket.

Police caught up with him in Huntly, but he had no gun in his possession.
