Rodger Fox has been leading his big band for 40 years and is celebrating in style with a special Rodger Fox Wellington Jazz Orchestra concert at the Carterton Events Centre tonight.
The concert will run from 7.30pm and will feature a pair of guest vocalists - American Glenn Walters and Kiwi songstress Erna Ferry.
Walters is a San Francisco artist, known for being a "musician's singer" and for his warm vocals, while Ferry came to jazz after a career in blues, popular music, musical theatre and regular festival billings.
The cream of the capital's big band talent will be led by Kiwi jazz man Fox - trombonist, bandleader, jazz ambassador and educator - following on from his return from recording his latest album The Capitol Sessions in Los Angeles.
Tickets for the show cost $30 and are available from Wairarapa i-Sites in Masterton, Carterton and Martinborough or online from dashtickets.co.nz.
