Kay Skelton, accused of kidnapping her son Jayden Headley last year, has been declared bankrupt.
A public notice in the Waikato Times said Skelton was bankrupt and called for creditors to lodge claims.
Jayden's father Chris Jones, who got custody of Jayden once he was brought back home after spending time in Northland on the run with his grandfather - Skelton's father Dick Headley - has been seeking court costs from Skelton over the custody battle. Skelton, her friend Nikala Taylor and Headley face a depositions hearing next month to establish whether they will stand trial on kidnapping charges.
