Two Japanese tourists were attacked in Rotorua by three men on Saturday.
The male tourist recieved a broken jaw while the female was pushed over in Kuirau Park.
The woman's grey Puma bag was stolen during the incident. In the bag were a number of personal items, including an iPad Air, iPhone 5 and camera, as well as cash.
The men are described as aged in their twenties, Maori and travelling in a large light blue vehicle, which turned into Tarewa Rd from Kuirau Park.
Police are calling for witnesses who saw the incident take place between 6pm and 6.30pm.
