KEY POINTS:
Interim name suppression has been continued for a 51-year-old man accused of the murder of Marie Jamieson.
Lawyer Barry Hart was to file an appeal to the High Court this evening after a district court judge had declined name suppression earlier in the week.
The man requested bail in the Waitakere District Court, which was opposed by police and then declined.
He will remain in custody to appear again in six weeks' time.
Ms Jamieson, 23 was last seen at Kingsland service station on February 10, 2001.
Her naked body was found nine days later behind factory buildings in the West Auckland suburb of Ranui.
